Invisalign The Clear Alternative to Braces

Invisalign; you may have heard about it if you are looking to straighten your teeth, but what is it about and what can it do.

Invisalign, also known as invisible braces, is a method to move teeth predictably without the need for visible wires or metal brackets.

If there are no wires, what moves the teeth?

Instead of brackets and wires which are cemented to your teeth, Invisalign uses as series of removable, clear plastic aligners to slowly shift your teeth into alignment. The aligners come as a series and the number of aligners may vary from upwards of 7, though most patients typically require 14-25+ aligners. Each aligner is computer generated from an initial impression of your teeth and slightly varies from the preceding one in the series. You wear each aligner for 2 week and easily swap them out after a full fortnight of wear.

Checks with us are necessary every 6 weeks to ensure that your aligners are correctly fitted and accurately tracking your teeth.

Without wires or brackets comes several great advantages:

There are no wires or brackets to collect food or clean around. You simply take the aligners out when you eat.

People cannot tell you are having orthodontic treatment so this is great for professionals and people who work in the public and don’t want to be seen with braces.wearing invisalign

Just simply remove your aligners, clean your teeth and replace them once you are done
We have many patients who are in their 30s to 40s and even a couple of patients in their 60s who have undertaken Invisalign to straighten their teeth. Age is not a barrier.
As the aligners are computer generated and manufactured we can show you a video of how your teeth will approximately move and where they will ultimately end up. This allows to see what your final smile will be like before starting.
